JARRELL — Williamson County and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) celebrated the completion of the Sonterra Boulevard road project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 8.
The project, located in Jarrell, addressed safety and mobility concerns at the intersection of the northbound Interstate 35 frontage road and Sonterra Boulevard. Improvements included reconstructing the intersection to add a dedicated right-turn lane and enhancing drainage in the area.
“I’m excited to see the Sonterra Boulevard project completed,” said Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles. “Many residents raised issues with this intersection. Through our 2023 voter-approved road bond program, we were able to address their concerns.”
The project cost approximately $566,829 and was funded through the county’s 2023 road bond. Mills Construction served as the contractor for the project, with Huitt-Zollars acting as the project engineer.
