ABILENE — An Alabama-based civil infrastructure firm continues to aggressively expand its footprint across the Lone Star State. On Oct. 5, Construction Partners, Inc. completed its Texas acquisition of the asphalt manufacturing and construction assets of Tye-based J.H. Strain & Sons.
The transaction bolsters the company’s Texas platform, Lone Star Paving, by adding two hot-mix asphalt plants, a fleet of equipment, and specialized paving crews. The acquisition allows Construction Partners to establish a stronger, localized presence to serve both public and private infrastructure customers throughout the greater Abilene area and West Texas.
More than 125 employees from J.H. Strain & Sons are transitioning to Lone Star Paving. The deal brings a highly experienced workforce and a longstanding regional market presence into the Construction Partners portfolio, which focuses on vertically integrated roadway construction and maintenance across the Sunbelt.
Company leadership noted that Abilene is a rapidly growing market experiencing ongoing investment, including several data center-related developments. The Texas purchase marks the company’s third major acquisition in recent weeks, following similar deals in Oklahoma and Florida.
