ARLINGTON — Arlington Water Utilities has broken ground on a new elevated storage tank aimed at boosting system pressure and expanding municipal water reserves in East Arlington.
The new 2.5-million-gallon water tower is being constructed on city-owned property at 2001 New York Ave., adjacent to the East Arlington Police Services Center. General contractor Landmark Structures, headquartered in Southlake, Texas, is leading construction.
The project will help the city meet drinking water storage requirements established by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) while supporting peak daily demand, which can reach 100 million gallons per day citywide.
Project timeline and details:
- Pedestal and bowl assembly: Expected completion by early 2027
- Final project completion: Targeted for late 2027
- Aesthetics: The structure will showcase logos for both the City of Arlington and the Arlington International Corridor.
