EL PASO— The National Parks Conservation Association and the Sierra Club have backed a lawsuit to stop border destruction at Big Bend National Park.
On Aug. 27, the groups filed an amicus brief supporting the Center for Biological Diversity’s motion for a preliminary injunction against the federal government. The environmental organizations are urging the court to halt the construction of a border barrier and related infrastructure, arguing that the project bypasses environmental review statutes and will cause irreversible harm to the park’s desert ecosystem.
