CONROE – Authorities are investigating a fatal construction accident that occurred April 11 on South Loop 336 East. A crew from Engitex Construction was installing underground piping when a 10-foot trench collapsed, trapping two workers.
Jose Arevalo, 44, of Houston, was killed in the collapse. A second worker, Yonatan Arevalo Molina, 34, was successfully extracted by emergency responders and transported to a local hospital, where he was later released.
The Conroe Police Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the incident.
