FRISCO – City leaders and regional stakeholders gathered this week to initiate the first vertical construction phase of Grand Park, a landmark 1,000-acre development poised to become one of the premier municipal park systems in North Texas.
The groundbreaking marks the commencement of the 300-acre “Community Hub” at the park’s northern boundary. This phase is defined by five distinct recreational zones: a Civic Park, Botanic Gardens, a Sports Park, and dedicated event spaces. Civil engineers have prioritized the development of Arrowhead Pond, a central water feature designed for managed recreational use, including kayaking and paddleboarding.
Complementing the natural aesthetics is a planned 14-mile integrated trail network that will facilitate pedestrian and cyclist connectivity between the various districts. Initial site preparation and utility infrastructure are currently underway, with a comprehensive groundbreaking for major park amenities slated for late summer 2025.
