CORPUS CHRISTI – City officials celebrated the start of a $3.4 million renovation project at Commodore Park on Padre Island with a groundbreaking ceremony.
The project, funded by voter-approved bonds from 2022 and 2024, will introduce several new amenities to the regional park:
- A covered basketball court pavilion.
- Two tennis courts and four pickleball courts.
- A fenced-in, shaded playground with safety surfacing.
- A bird observation blind and concrete walking trails.
Turner Ramirez Architects designed the improvements, and Weaver and Jacobs Constructors will lead the construction efforts.
