HOUSTON — The Associated General Contractors (AGC) Houston chapter is accepting applications for its Patrick J. Kiley Excellence in Leadership Scholarship for the 2026-27 academic year.

The application deadline is Jan. 30, 2026.

According to AGC Houston, the scholarship, which was established in 1996, provides funding to “support the next generation of construction leaders.”

Eligibility is open to employees, interns, or the dependents of employees of AGC Houston member firms. Members of the AGC Student Chapter are also eligible to apply.

Applicants must be pursuing a degree related to a career in construction. Both current high school seniors and college students are eligible, but they must be enrolled in a college or university during the fall 2026 semester. Students graduating in the spring of 2026 or earlier are not eligible.

The association stated that multiple awards are given each year, with amounts varying per recipient.

Scholarship funds are mailed directly to the student’s college and must be used for tuition, required academic fees, or book expenses. The funding cannot be used for living expenses such as room and board, rent, or meal plans.

Recipients may be enrolled part-time or full-time and must continue pursuing a construction-related degree to remain eligible.

The application process is managed by The Greater Houston Community Foundation. All finalists will be interviewed by the AGC Houston Scholarship Committee in February or March 2026. Applicants must submit essays, financial information, two recommendations, and an academic transcript.
