HOUSTON — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District has released the 2026 Draft Master Plan for the Addicks and Barker reservoirs, opening a public review period that runs through Feb. 20, 2026. This is the first comprehensive update to the master plan since 2009.
The plan outlines land use classifications and resource management objectives for the reservoirs, which are critical for flood risk management in the Houston area. A public open house is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Glazier Community Center in Houston to discuss proposed changes and invasive species management.
