MADISON COUNTY — Energy Vault Holdings, Inc. has commenced construction on the SOSA Energy Center, a 150-megawatt (300 MWh) battery energy storage system. The project, acquired from a Shell subsidiary, is situated in the ERCOT North market and is expected to achieve commercial operation by the second quarter of 2027.

The facility is the first to begin construction under Energy Vault’s “Asset Vault” platform and is projected to generate over $350 million in total revenue over its technical life. The company reported ending 2025 with over $100 million in cash, positioning it to further execute its asset ownership strategy in the Texas energy market.
