European-headquartered Ferrovial, through its construction subsidiary Webber, has been awarded two contracts totaling approximately $720 million to upgrade water facilities in Austin and Fort Worth.
In Austin, Webber will construct a $426 million pump station as part of the I-35 Capital Express Central project for the Texas Department of Transportation. The 105-foot-deep station will feature four concrete volute pumps capable of moving 260,000 gallons per minute to manage flood and storm water. Construction began in July and is slated for completion in late 2028.
In Fort Worth, the company secured a $295 million contract to expand the Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant. The project will increase the plant’s daily potable water capacity by 35 million gallons. Work is already underway and is expected to conclude in 2029.
