DENTON COUNTY — CoTec Holdings Corp. joint venture HyProMag USA has formally taken occupation of an approximately 125,000-sq. ft. facility at the Ironhead Commerce Center in Denton County. The site will serve as the central hub of the company’s domestic rare earth magnet recycling and manufacturing platform.
The proposed $142 million Dallas-Fort Worth facility will utilize patented Hydrogen Processing of Magnet Scrap (HPMS) technology developed in the U.K. This process recovers valuable rare earth materials from scrap and end-of-life products using hydrogen gas rather than harsh chemical processing, significantly reducing the environmental footprint of rare earth extraction.
The plant is projected to manufacture roughly 941 metric tons of recycled sintered neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets annually over a 40-year lifespan. These magnets are critical components in modern technology, used extensively in electric vehicle motors, wind turbines, robotics, and advanced defense systems.
The U.S. buildout is anticipated to create 90 to 100 skilled jobs. More importantly, it represents a significant step in establishing a domestic supply chain for rare earth elements, reducing U.S. reliance on foreign imports and mitigating supply chain vulnerabilities.
