HOUSTON — The Greater Houston Builders Association’s (GHBA) Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) is championing mentorship to support women entering the construction industry, the association reported.

The PWB’s Mentorship Program, which wrapped its third cohort on July 31, aims to connect experienced professionals with emerging talent to build confidence and leadership skills.

“As the professional world continues to evolve, mentorship remains a cornerstone of career growth—especially for women building their paths in traditionally male-dominated industries like construction,” wrote D’Ann Brown, 2025 PWB Council President, in an article dated Oct. 27..

The program, which is nationally recognized, has resulted in transformative relationships and lasting professional bonds.

“The most valuable part of the PWB Mentorship Program has been the connections I’ve built with more industry professionals,” one third-cohort participant stated, according to the GHBA. Another mentee noted, “My mentor exposed me to different networking opportunities and guided me on how to market my individual self.”

The PWB is now seeking mentors and mentees for its fourth cohort, which will kick off in early 2026. The program involves a six-month commitment and is open to PWB members in good standing.

“By connecting experienced professionals with the next generation of talent, PWB helps women gain the confidence, skills, and guidance they need to rise into leadership and thrive in their careers,” Brown wrote.

The interest list for the fourth cohort closes on Dec. 1.
