SAN ANTONIO — The Southwest’s premier residential construction trade event is going back to where it all began. The Sunbelt Builders Show is celebrating its 25th silver anniversary by returning to San Antonio—the site of its inaugural 2001 event—on July 22-26, at the Henry B. González Convention Center.

Produced by the Texas Association of Builders (TAB), the annual event draws builders, remodelers, developers, and suppliers from across the region. Over its two-and-a-half-decade history, the show has remained deeply practical while adapting to industry shifts. Educational themes have evolved from core building science and risk management to modern challenges such as artificial intelligence in construction, workforce development, and corporate succession planning.

The 2026 convention will feature an expansive trade show floor with over 200 industry partners. Exhibitors will showcase a comprehensive range of innovations, including building materials, smart home automation technologies, appliances, and professional business services.

Attendees will have access to more than 20 thought-leadership programs, including professional development sessions and curated podcast conversations. Keynote presentations will be delivered by Robert Dietz, Chief Economist for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and Ricky Dickson, retired CEO of Blue Bell Creameries.

The convention also serves as a major networking and philanthropic hub for the Texas construction industry. The “Big Time on the Riverwalk” event will raise funds for HOMEPAC and The Texas Builders Foundation, while the week will culminate with the 2026 Star Awards—Texas’ premier statewide homebuilding awards program—on July 23 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio.
