EL PASO – The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) celebrated a major milestone in campus development with the grand opening of Texas Western Hall on Jan. 15. The $110 million facility is designed to serve as a hub for advanced manufacturing and aerospace research.
Spanning nearly 125,000 sq. ft., the new building will provide cutting-edge classrooms and laboratories. The opening ceremony was attended by university leadership, local officials, and industry partners.
“We appreciate their partnership and good work,” university officials said of the construction teams, noting that the project employed more than 1,000 workers, including approximately 37 UTEP alumni.
The facility is expected to play a central role in the region’s economic development by training students for high-demand careers in engineering and technology.
