North Texas SBDC highlights new municipal and regional bid opportunities

The Texas Construction News staff writer

DALLAS — Contractors and service providers across the region have a new slate of municipal and regional projects to pursue, according to the latest bid opportunities from the North Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The organization regularly aggregates open bids from cities, counties, and special districts to help local vendors and small businesses find competitive contracts.

Several major projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are closing in mid-October. The Upper Trinity Regional Water District is seeking proposals for brush removal, tree trimming, and fencing construction, with both contracts structured as one-year agreements carrying four consecutive renewal options starting in December.

Municipalities are also soliciting bids for facility improvements and services. The City of Carrollton has opened bidding for its Crosby Recreation Center renovations, while the City of McKinney is requesting statements of qualifications from planning firms for a small area and corridor plan along a portion of State Highway 5.

Additionally, the City of Arlington is reviewing bids for a comprehensive annual janitorial contract covering 11 Parks, Recreation, and Culture facilities, and the Tarrant Regional Water District is seeking janitorial services for its Fort Worth operations. All respective bids are scheduled to close today (Oct. 13) and tomorrow (Oct. 14).
